OUR FAVOURITES
Le Sombral
Situated in the main square of beautiful Saint Cirq Lapopie it makes for blissful al fresco evening dining (avoid it for lunch as too busy). Be sure to book an outside table in advance. The poached local trout in Cahors red wine is legendary.
Allee Des Vignes
Sublime and outstanding are words regularly used to describe this restaurant’s gastronomic offering. The garden is shaded and peaceful. Be sure to leave a good few hours to really enjoy yourselves.
Le Gourmet Quercynois
In Saint Cirq Lapopie, this restaurant always delivers a delicious selection of local fare, mushrooms, foie gras, duck and truffles. The local specialities are always fantastic and although not on the square there is outside evening al-fresco dining.
NOTABLE OTHERS
Le Belle Epoque
The chef Pierre Sowinski is truly an exceptional cook. With shaded terraces, fabulous wine the Le Belle Epoque is suitable for lunch and dinner. There is also a swimming pool and four boutique guest rooms if you can’t make it back.
Certainly worth a visit and book in advance.
It is very close, turn right out of the drive and carry on down the road through Brengues, Corn and Boussac, around 15 minutes
Le President
In Cajarc, this is the nearest restaurant and provides basic and good local food. It’s on the Cajarc main and provides a good spot to people watch and enjoy a quick lunch break from shopping.
The restaurant of course named after the king of sophistication President George Pompidou whose home town was Cajarc.
Jeu de Quille
Also in Cajarc it tends to be good for early evening drinks and a light bite. If there is any life in Cajarc this is where you will find it, and it captures the slightly more alternative locals. The food is slightly better than Le President.
