Five years ago, our love story at Le Moulin began. On that wet and windy day on the 14th of February 2020, (our wedding anniversary), while browsing online and dreaming of sunnier climes, we stumbled upon an ancient mill with a beautiful house and majestic tower overlooking the banks of the river Célé. A few short weeks later, we drove down the tree-lined entrance as the proud new owners of Le Moulin and it felt like we were coming home. Little did we know that this serendipitous online find would blossom into a life filled with sunshine, creativity and memorable moments.
Water under the mill
A lot of water has passed under the ‘mill’ since then. Having moved from Ireland to France, we have spent the past few years enjoying this exciting chapter in our lives. From renovations to planting vines, olive trees and wild flower meadows, to welcoming guests and settling in to a new community and fine tuning our French – every day has been a new learning with lots of fun along the way!
Season 3 at Le Moulin
We’re flying through our third season at Le Moulin. It’s our great pleasure to welcome guests from Ireland, the UK, Canada and mainland Europe. Feedback is extremely positive with most guests rebooking even before they say goodbye. Our fourth season is already sparking excitement with holiday bookings for 2026 rolling in rapidly. The warmest of welcomes awaits all our guests at Le Moulin. Our home is their home for the duration of their holiday. We know that everyone falls in love with Le Moulin, just as we did five years ago and every day since.
Le Malbec & La Carral
Following extensive renovations, we’re proud to present our two new additions to Le Moulin Collection – Le Malbec (2 guests) and La Carral (4 guests). Designed for couples, these exclusive and charming hideaways will open their doors next year. Located just across from the vineyard at Le Moulin, these romantic retreats blend rustic elegance with modern comfort – perfect for honeymoons, anniversaries, or simply a well-deserved break. Both houses offer breathtaking views of the Célé Valley and feature their own private plunge pool and charming terrace. They will be available for weekly rental from May through September and for cosy short breaks for the rest of the year.

From Forgotten Vines to Future Wines
Another hidden treasure of Le Moulin revealed itself the day we stumbled upon a weary, overgrown vineyard on the property. At first glance, it looked like nature had begun to reclaim it—but to Marc and I, it was a promise waiting to be fulfilled. We saw past the tangled vines and curling weeds. We saw a future swirling with ruby reds, sun-dappled leaves, and clinking glasses under a French sunset. That day, we promised to restore it to its former glory.
Three years—and countless hours of pruning, spraying and endless weeding later, we’re (hopefully!) on track for our very first harvest this autumn. Fingers crossed. It feels surreal. A vineyard once forgotten is now bursting with life. I visit the vines everyday to check progress and to have a quiet word with them. We have a ‘grape’ connection 🙂
At a recent community event, we mentioned the upcoming harvest and were met with a wave of enthusiasm. Offers to help came pouring in from neighbours eager to be part of the rebirth. I’m already envisioning a rustic table stretched amid the vines, dressed in red-and-white tablecloths, laden with fine French food and free-flowing wine. If all goes well, the wine won’t just taste like a great Malbec, it will be a flavour of respecting the land, following Nature’s lead and realising a dream three years in the making!
Wine Cave & Farm Shop
A cool spot to savour an Apéro on a hot summer’s evening! We’re super excited to begin work later this year on an old barn (see image below) that will feature original stone floors and walls. We aim to showcase a great variety of local wines and artisan produce. I’m proud to have completed a course (in French) to obtain a licence for selling wine. Marc says that I’m licensed and ready to serve !
Hiking Holiday
A combined love of hiking and realising that Le Moulin is actually located on the path of the Santiago de Compostela route, we’re hosting our first Hiking Holiday in the Lot region this autumn. It promises to be a week filled with adventure, savouring fine food and wine and exploring the hiker’s paradise that is the Lot valley.

Family Fun – The Heart of Le Moulin Collection
While the vineyards flourish, the sunflowers stretch toward the sky and our wee business is blossoming, the most joyful part of life at Le Moulin is sharing it with our children – Carl, James and Christina. Whenever they join us in-between their studies, they bring laughter, energy and a sense of togetherness that makes living here even more special. It’s our dream to create something meaningful – not just for ourselves, but for every guest who becomes part of Le Moulin family.
À Suivre…
As we reflect on five years of love, laughter, and labour at Le Moulin, we’re filled with gratitude for the journey that began on a rainy Valentine’s Day and continues to bloom with every season. What started as a dream has grown into a vibrant life—rooted in nature, nurtured by community, and shared with family and guests who become part of our story. Whether it’s the clink of glasses at harvest, the quiet joy of a morning hike, or the sparkle of a romantic getaway, Le Moulin is more than a place—it’s a feeling. And as we look ahead to new chapters, we remain devoted to creating moments that matter, memories that linger, and a home that always welcomes with open arms.
Here’s to the next five years—and beyond. 🥂
